Sutter Buttes Tea Party Patriots

Ordinary Citizens Reclaiming America's Founding Principles

Had a good turn out. Probably 40+ people there. Thanks to people of the Redding group for coming and leading the way to Action Groups. Saw some new faces in the crowd.

Erin did a great job leading the group into specific areas of interest and giving examples of how it worked out for her group.

More people were vocal last night which I think was good, even though at some times I couldn't hear ;-)

Someone mentioned a library where we can exchange books and that's an excellent idea. I'm in the process of reading several and will donate them after I'm finished. I'll even buy and donate if need be.

Action Groups -

Local (respective city council watchers) I joined the YC group that Don Kessel is hosting
County (respective counties)
Outreach - I host that, I'm just not quite sure of how to go about it but there will be a way ;-)
2010 Elections -
Voter Registration -
Fact or Fiction - Hosted here and I suppose at our meetings by Conundrum
THE GRAND JIHAD - hosted by John Larimer

Hopefully some one can complete the list and even more hopefully, I'll remember to bring a pen and something to write on next time.

Was there anything about the local schools and school board? The reason I ask is that at my grand daughter's 8th grade didn't get any Constitution Day readings or instruction because (and I quote):

Even though I had remembered earlier in the week that Constitution Day was coming I had not reminded the teachers of that fact as I ofter do. I can assure you it was an oversight on our part.

With US history being the History - Social Science curricula for both the 5th and 8th grades, it is incorporated into those two grade levels at a specified time during the year, so it is covered.

I appreciate the reminder and will make sure that it is on my calendar to remind the teachers in the future.

I am going to write our Sutter County Superintendent of Schools and ask why our principles are not being reminded prior to Constitution Day.

I set this website up using the name Noah Gardner, the main character in Glenn Beck's latest book, "The Overton Window." I loaned the book to one of our other members; so our library has already unofficially begun. Compile a list of your books. When I return, I'll create a Library page and list our books. If I maintain control of the list, I can ensure some uniformity rather than a hodgepodge of various lists. If you think there's a better way, please let me know.

Erin Ryan set up the Redding site as John Galt. I asked her "who is John Galt?" Her response prompted me to purchase the book, "Atlas Shrugged," by Ayn Rand. It's the biggest book I've ever read -- 1168 pages. It was a bit difficult to get into at first, but OMG... this book is awesome and explains exactly why our country is declining. I now know Obama and his ilk are looters, enslaving us under the pretense of protecting us -- because WE let them. I'm only up to page 664 but should be finished with it by the time we return to YC. If you haven't read it and want to borrow it, it will be available.
