Ordinary Citizens Reclaiming America's Founding Principles
Twenty members of the Sutter Buttes Tea Party participated in an impromptu rally held Friday, February 5, 2016, from 3-5 p.m., in front of the Yuba City Red Robin on Colusa Highway in memory and honor of LaVoy Finicum, the Arizona rancher, father of 11, and grandfather of 19, and a wife of 23 years, who was murdered by the FBI and Oregon state police on January 26, 2016 in Oregon for standing up to the BLM and its heavy hand of regulations, fines, and imprisonments that are destroying ranching and MULTI-USE of lands in the west.
This was the same date and time that LaVoy’s funeral was held in Kanab, Utah.
With only one-day notice, twenty people participated. Unfortunately, there were only four signs pertaining to Mr. Finicum. The rest of the signs were provided by Thomas Burns, who organizes our regular rallies showing there is a TEA Party presence in Yuba City.
Although the Territorial Dispatch and Appeal Democrat were notified, this was obviously deemed an event unworthy of the public's awareness despite the fact armed protection was provided by three uninvited and unsolicited black-and-white police cars parked on Highway 99 where they could keep their vigilant eyes upon us.
