Ordinary Citizens Reclaiming America's Founding Principles
People arriving at the April 20, 2015, meeting of the Sutter Buttes Tea Party (SBTP) held at the Church of Glad Tidings were given a program which included the bio and photo of the guest speaker, Orlean Koehle; the meeting's agenda, list of upcoming events, Action Alert -- STOP AB 622 – Gives illegal aliens ability to sue employers who use E-Verify at $10,000 per violation with list of Committee members to contact; article - “The Scorching of California: A Leftist Legacy”; article - “Engineered Drought Catastrophe Continues, Target California”; Article V Information; Sutter Buttes Tea Party 2-Gun Raffle information; and SBTP's Mission and 2015 Officers with Contact Information.
Larry Virga opened the meeting. No elected officials attended, one inactive member returned, and seven new people signed in (four heard of our meeting from the Church of Glad Tidings).
Joe Karwal provided the Invocation. Brian Naglee led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Debbie Thornton announced she and her husband Tom are the new owners of The Patriot Store, which is located at 1199 Butte House Road next to Batteries Plus in the Target parking lot. They specialize in emergency preparedness supplies, offer State of Jefferson merchandise, and buy and sell gold and silver coins and bullion.
Danielle Terry announced Shooters Paradise is providing self-defense classes for women.
Larry announced our scheduled and advertised guest speaker, Pastor David Whitney, was unable to get to Yuba City in time for the meeting; his flight from Baltimore was turned around and canceled due to mechanical difficulties. Pastor Whitney’s rescheduled flight would land in Sacramento at 9:45 p.m.. He will be speaking April 21 in Grass Valley on the "Unlawful Federal Land Grab" and April 22 at the Ponderosa Hall (Gate 2), Nevada County Fairgrounds at 6:30 p.m. on the Article V - Convention of States ("America's Last Hope or A Dangerous Idea").
Larry thanked Judi Caler, who is with the Nevada County Tea Party and also Director of Constitutional Studies with Eagle Forum of California, for getting Orlean Koehle, State President of Eagle Forum of California and author of “America Needs Revival Not Revision: The Dangers and Risks of an Article V Convention of the States,” to fill in at the last minute to speak to us about the Convention of States.
After Mrs. Koehle’s friend, Jennifer Delaney, led us in singing “God Bless America,” Mrs. Koehle and Judi Caler articulated the dangers to our Constitution if a Convention of States is held and is co-opted by leftists, who will be part of the process. We, the people, are the guardians of our Constitution, which is a divinely inspired document and must be protected at all costs from any possibility of being damaged, undermined, or destroyed. There are no safeguards in Article V; and if Congress isn’t following the Constitution now, why will they follow the Constitution if it is changed? The risk is too great.
Interacting with those present through questions and answers, Paul Preston, Agenda 21 Radio, spoke about Operation Jade Helm, the BLM standoff in Oregon, and the government-created drought in CA.
The next meeting of the Sutter Buttes Tea Party will be Monday, May 4, 2015, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Church of Glad Tidings. [It was confirmed 4/21/15 the guest speaker will be Sinhue Noriega, author of “If It’s Broken, Don’t Fix It -- An Inside Look at Education and the Common Core.”]
